About M.E.L.D. Danceworks....
As one who actively participates in religious activities and the culture surrounding religion, I have long felt a connection between my spiritual and artistic lives. M.E.L.D. Danceworks
serves as the creative vehicle through which I can more directly engage
this experience of religion within the creative process, and give voice
to dance artists of all faiths who wish to do the same.
M.E.L.D. Danceworks is committed to furthering the dialogue of culture and religion that simultaneously reflect and shape contemporary dance. Diverse in background and belief systems, M.E.L.D. Danceworks dancers and collaborators recognize the purpose of religion to foster individual spiritual growth, and seeks to celebrate the best of all spiritual and religious worldviews through live performance, choreographic collaboration and educational outreach.
Through such artistic and educational projects, I seek to validate the role of faith in our individual and collective lives, and pull that experience out of the dark, into a place where all people can witness, share, learn and celebrate together.
