EXPANSIVE TO MY VIEW (2007)
Solo – 8:30
Music by Arvo Part
This solo, set to Arvo Part’s soulful score “Fur Alisa,” begins with a lone dancer, arms tangled, dimly lit in the far downstage right corner.  Moving from this binding through a series of repetitive and effort-filled gestures, this solo represents the practiced principle of “faith” as the action of believing.  Ultimately filling the stage with full-bodied movement, I seek to validate faith as a way of knowing that, I believe, expands our understanding of mortality’s mystery and richness.

SYDNEY ANN'S APPLE (2007)
Eight dancers – 30:00
Original music by Nathan Bowen
Art Installation by Valerie Atkisson
Sydney Ann’s Apple is danced by 8 women and draws upon stories of strength, compassion and creativity in hopes of reclaiming the divinity of women's innate creative power.  Sydney Ann's Apple reflects a personal journey into issues of female identity and self-worth, and explores dichotomies between the religious doctrine to which I subscribe, the culture surrounding that doctrine, and the larger social perception of religious life.
CONNECT OUR WORDS (2005)
Six dancers – 8:30
Music by Astor Piazzolla, Sting, Maria Bettiana
Connect Our Words takes a light-hearted look at the effectiveness of language – both verbal and bodily – to adequately express the landscape of our inner life, including emotions, feelings, and beliefs.  It has a theatrical, pedestrian feel, as it is “set” in a café, complete with flirtatious lovers, a woman, a waiter and a flower.
SCENTS OF SAFFRON (2004)
Group work – 8:00
Music by Sheila Chandra, Mickey Hart
Choreographed in the weeks after the devastating 2004 tsunami, Scents of Saffron reflects on themes of loss and healing.  Having recently returned from living in Sri Lanka, I drew upon Sinhalese symbols and traditional dance as part of my own “healing” process, and perhaps, as I was to learn on a subsequent return to the island, as a reflection of the bonds of cultural solidarity that remain even when all else is lost.
GENESIS (2003)
Group work - 5:00
Music by Philip Glass
As the name suggests, Genesis makes reference not only to ‘creation’ as viewed through a specific spiritual lens, it also illustrates broader themes of life cycles, and the synergy inherent in any creative process.  It developed as I considered, in humility, the wonder of this Earth, the immensity of the universe, and my place inside it.
THE SPACE IN BETWEEN (2002)
Group work - 9:00
Music by Richard Einhorn, Arvo Part, Gabrielle  Roth
The Space in Between, orginally created in collaboration with dancers from the University of Utah, explores the highly ethereal, yet undeniably corporeal nature of spiritual experience.  Movement was generated from dancers' personal experiences with, and attitudes towards, spirituality.  Themes of presence and bearing witness are used as foundation for exploring the often parallel experiences occurring in religious and creative practice.
LIGHT TRACES (2008)
Group work - 23:00
Music by Richard Einhorn, Bernhard Dalwitz, Clint Mansell
Light Traces combines handheld lights, text, and full-bodied movement to explore those shared values that lay at the core of each of us as human beings.  Orginally created for the Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company (TLCDC), Mumbai, India.

FOUNDATIONS (2009)
Quartet - 23:00
Music by Philip Glass, Sigur Ros, Ahn Trio

Inspired by the 2008 collapse of Wall Arch in Utah's Arches National Park, Foundations explores the diverse spiritual footings and foundations of an interfaith cast of dancers using movement, text and storytelling.  Adaptable to many spaces, Foundations was performed in New York City art galleries, churches, and black box theaters, for community gatherings and religious festivals.
